Welcome to my little piece of the blogging world.

Whether you agree or disagree with my opinions, we are so blessed to live a country where each citizen's opinion is valuable. Feel free to comment. I often ask people for their opinions on a variety of issues; it gives me some food for thought. They often inquire, "Why, are you writin' a book?" I can now answer, "As a matter of fact, I am." The title is "Faith without Fantasy"; hopefully it will inspire some much needed conversation. By the way, I am not a Democrat or a Republican and do not consider my opinion fact; I do use factcheck.org, so please don't comment with talking points. I will try to be as balanced as possible; guess it's the Libra in me (I think I'm still a Libra). I want this to be a getting to the truth blog, admitting the truth, and facing facts, but with a bit of humor so no one hunts me down and shoots me with their uzi.

Regulations and Taxes – Friends or Foes

Government regulations and Federal tax rates are two major issues in the 2012 election for President that will determine whose name gets checked on the ballot by many voters. Democrats want the government to regulate just about every facet of life and Republicans prefer an unregulated existence with complete freedom for corporations and financial organizations to do as they will. Democrats have always leaned toward a progressive tax system or the more make the more you pay. Republicans, anyway the new Tea Party Republican Party, are still deciding on whether they want to enact a flat tax for everyone, roughly based on 20 % of total earnings, or cutting taxes even more than they are now for all Americans leaving the top 1% of earners (along with all their loopholes) paying virtually zilch. So I decided to look at the pros and cons of both a little closer.
